What you’ll need

  • 125g butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup golden syrup
  • 1 egg yolk

How to make your gingerbread cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Beat the butter, golden syrup and egg yolk until light and creamy.
  3. Add the gingerbread cookie mix and stir until a soft dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour your work surface, roll the dough to 5mm thickness and cut into your favourite festive shapes.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
